Nepal defeated Kenya by 5 wickets

Kathmandu - Nepal has won by five wickets in the first T20 international cricket match against Kenya. Nepal met the target of 131 runs given by Kenya at the Gymkhana ground in Nairobi by losing five wickets with four balls remaining.

Dipendra Singh Airi scored the highest 33 runs for Nepal. Similarly, Gyanendra Malle scored 23 runs, Ashif Sheikh scored 19 runs, Rohit Paudel scored 12 runs and Pawan Sarraf scored one run. Arif Sheikh 20 and Adil Ansari remained not out for two runs. On the bowling side, Lucas Olauch and Viraj Patel of Kenya took two wickets each.

Earlier, Kenya, who batted first, scored 130 runs after losing eight wickets in 20 overs. For him, Irfan Karim scored 34 and Lukau Olauch scored 30 not out in 12 balls. On the bowling side, Nepal's Sompal Kami took three wickets, Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets and Adil Ansari and Dipendra Singh Airi took one wicket each.

The second T20 match between Nepal and Kenya will be played on Friday, the third on August 12, the fourth on August 13 and the fifth on August 14. Similarly, Nepal is also scheduled to play three one-day practice matches with Kenya. Three ODI practice matches will be held on August 17, 18 and 20.
