Kathmandu - Nepal has signed an agreement to send its nurses to the United Kingdom. During a program held in Kathmandu today, Labor Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal and British Ambassador to Nepal, Nicola Pollitt, signed an agreement in this regard on Monday.
Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister Sher Bahadur Kunwar was on the occasion.
Although the agreement does not mention the number of nurses to be sent to the UK, Minister Kunwar’s predecessor Krishna Kumar Shrestha had informed the parliament earlier that around 10,000 of them would be sent and each of them would be paid around Rs.400,000.
The deal just says the facilities of the nurses would be equal to those of the British ones.
During the agreement signing ceremony on Monday, Ambassador Pollitt hope this agreement would help Nepal develop its medical human resources besides letting its people access British jobs.
